Autograph Pic of Disneyland Guide…

My Brother-In-Law was a big AATW fan, and he dragged me along as a 16 year old, and we actually met Ray Benson, and I had him sign this Disneyland guide…he was probably drunk and he signed Mickey Mouse too.

My second “concert”…I was 13 and loved Star Wars, so going to Anaheim Stadium (again) and hearing all that cool music was right up my alley! $12.50!

I had heard somewhere Van Halen opened this show, but can’t find it now.

My very first concert. My sister had met members of Lynyrd Skynyrd the day before at Malibu Grand Prix where she worked. They told her they would leave tickets for her at the box office. She asked me at about 3pm or so that day if I wanted to go…”SURE!” this 13 year old kid said. We got there and I remember a mixup with the tickets, not sure if the stadium just gave us a pair but we got in and I remember it was crazy. People lighting fires on the infield and the giant “Big A” sign (which was still in left-ish field behind the home run wall) was warning people that “Smokey The Bear says No Fires!”…We got there in time to see Ted Nugent do a splits jump over the drums and then we stayed for all of Skynyrd. The plane went down two months later and that was the end of the original band.
